I'M ON A BOAT!!!

Take a good hard look 'cuz we're sailing on a boat!

Fathers' day was a little overcast yet very windy, so we took the opportunity to show Brent the best of Sarnia: From the water. We spent the day out and about on Allie's uncle's 32-foot sailboat to watch the rigatta.

fun with helium

We found this among our files and thought you might like it. Brent found a random helium balloon camping and thought he'd pretend to be in munchkin-land for a while...

THE WEIRDNESS OF SARNIA

So we've noticed a trend that Sarnians are all a little nuts... must be all the chemicals in the air???

EPISODE 1: Location: Public Library
A man comes up to the reference desk and asks if they have a film about rock climbing. The desk lady says "let me check" and while she is searching the catalogue, the man turns to his ever-patient wife and says "won't it be great? Climbing waaaay up to the top!!" (with hand gestures). Teh librarian says she has one about rock climbing in California, and the man respons more to his wife than to her "Ooooh, California! It will be like a vacation. WQe can watch it together.".....

EPISODE 1.1: Location: Computers next to reference desk at Public Library
While we're waiting for some books, an elderly man dressed for African safari comes to use an email computer. He types:

The Mr. John Chambers:

I am writing to inform you about a new discovery in which a new gold alloy called Alexandrite can be used as an implant to cure cancer, especially breast cancer. I know because I assisted in the experiemtns myself. I feel that the customers at Sarnia Fine Cars will wish to know that they are being deprived access to this treatment by the Bank. I really loved my Town car, and drove it daily to London even back in 1986.  Please respond to my inquiry, as I have access to the materials needed from my gold mine land out West.

And that's all we got to see..... huh? First off, Alexandrite is not at all a gold alloy.....

EPISODE 2: Waiting at the stop light (GOD I WISH I HAD MY CAMERA READY!!!!!)
Brent, Allie, and Luke were privileged to witness Sarnia's wackiest at his best. This man of undetermined age crosseds the street on a home-made BMX bike with styrofoam insulation wrapped around all the metal bars. What struck our attention most,m howeevr, was the great yellow welder's mask with visor down trhat he sported soo  coolly. Additionally, he wore the orange crossing guiard vest and a tool belt equipped with many playful, plastic tools. We think there might have been camo pants to complete the attire.  Only pictures could describe this better....

EPISODE 3: beach
there was DEFINITELY a guy with a giant snake wrapped around him like a scarf!!!

More to come.. consider this an ongoing series!

It's been a While...

It's been a while, so we thought we'd shoot up an update. It's been an eventful past few weeks, but at the same time, a monotonously dreary time. We spent a while sick and dirt broke, so there wasn't much fun to be had.

On the more fun side, we present you Fairy Tale Fights!

Looking to rent COD4, but unable to find it anywhere, we picked up a Nintendo-style, juvenile looking game with a lot of punch! You play as fairtytale characters, Allie was Riding Hood, then Snow White because Riding Hood's hood kept getting lost among the pools of blood, and Brent was the Naked King... see below

See a resemblance? AHAHAHAHAHA

To alleviate the debt disaster, we FINALLY got our respective cheques in the mail: Brent got his start-up money from the summer company program and Allie finally got her tax return... a measly $400....

So we went out and bought two guitars for really cheap, and some stain, and are currently fixing them way up wicked cool. Some other guy paid us $40 just to sand and prime his guitar body, which we can all tell is a super sweet deal. SO we cracked out the air compressor and spray paint gun and have gone to town on every guitar in the house lol! WEEE!! Pics to come.

Most of our spare time has still been spent at the beach and walking around the block eighteen billion times a day which apparently relieves Brent's pinched sciatic nerve... booring.

All in all, it's been a pretty placid time for a while. Allie's been shuffling through reading a novel every 2.5 days for her summer course and Brent has been trying to find random projects involving cars and guitars to work on.

Yeah... more to come...
